More books for babies! We might be getting a little more complicated here, but not much. But books will start having more of a story arc rather than a series of connected images. Some of my favorites* for this age:

*[Check back - I'll put my newest additions at the top!)]

JUMP! by Tatsuhide Matsuoka

What jumps? A frog? Yes! BOIIIINNNGGGG! A cat? Yes! BOIIINNGGGGGG! This interactive book is so silly and fun and will have you bouncing around the house.

MOO, BAA, LA LA LA! (or any, really) by Sandra Boyton

Honestly, pick any Sandra Boynton board book and you can't go wrong. She's lasted this long for a reason. Moo, Baa, La La La! is one of my favorites, as is Happy Hippo, Angry Duck.

DO COWS MEOW? by Salina Yoon

My library gave this one away as one of our free summer reading books and it FLEW off the shelves. It was the one we ran out of most quickly. And for good reason- the bouncy rhyming text is funny and interactive. A surefire hit!

LOIS LOOKS FOR BOB series by Gerry Turley

I am not sure why I find these stories so amusing - although it's primarily because all of the animals Lois, the cat, finds before she finds Bob, the bird, are given decidedly "normal" human names like "Steve" and "Janet." Cracks me up every time. The flaps to lift make this even more fun.

HELLO WORLD series by Jill McDonald

With bright, collage-like illustrations your child can go in-depth into their specialist subject from an early age! Titles include Birds, Solar System, My Body, Pets, Cars and Trucks, and more!

LEO LOVES BABY TIME by Anna McQuinn and Rosalind Beardshaw

Leo is Lola's little brother and stars in his own series of books! In this title we follow him to baby storytime at the library.

PEEKABOO MORNING by Rachel Isadora

This is a sweet story about a young child playing... wait for it... peekaboo with their grownups. Joyful and warm.

TOUCH-AND-TRACE books series by Silver Dolphin books and Emily Bannister

Learning letters means learning the sounds they make as well as their shapes. Start embedding those shapes into your little's brain with this interactive book. Children learn with their whole bodies, and tracing the letters gives them head start not only on the letter shapes but also on learning to write.

CANTICOS series by Susie Jaramillo

Para los que cuidan a un bebé bilingüe, or for those who are learning Spanish, these board book versions of popular Spanish-language children's songs are perfect.
